UNOPS Internship 2025 – Fully Funded Opportunity for Global Applicants

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) has officially opened applications for the UNOPS Internship 2025, a fully funded international opportunity designed for students and early-career professionals passionate about climate action and sustainable development.

This internship is part of the Initiative for Climate Action Transparency (ICAT), which supports over 50 developing countries in building systems to monitor climate action, assess emissions, and track progress toward sustainable development goals under the Paris Agreement. About the UNOPS Internship

The internship is offered under UNOPS’s Water, Environment, and Climate (WEC) portfolio and supports the implementation of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Uptake (MELU) framework. The MELU framework allows the ICAT Secretariat to evaluate project impacts and improve transparency strategies on a global scale.

This is a unique opportunity to gain experience within a UN system, working on international projects alongside climate experts and global stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

Selected interns will contribute to the following tasks:

  • Collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data for the MELU framework
  • Conducting background research on ICAT’s partner country activities
  • Supporting the preparation of reports and communication materials
  • Participating in team meetings and engaging with international partners and institutions

 

Eligibility Requirements

Educational Background:

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a university program in fields such as environmental studies, climate policy, data science, project management, or related disciplines.

Experience:

  • No previous work experience is required. However, prior involvement in research, report writing, or environmental data analysis is considered an advantage.

  • Duration: 8 months (renewable for up to 12 months)
